Chris has been working in international education for the last 20 years in a variety of positions within all education sectors; secondary schools, vocational education and training, English language and Higher Education. Chris was appointed as the Managing Director International Education Services at its inception in 1997.
As Managing Director of IES, Chris has steered its development to its current position as one of the premier pathway institutions in the country and the only significant provider of on-line professional development services to the international education industry.
Chris served as a National Director on the Australian Council for Private Education and Training Board from 2006 to 2008, following three years on the ACPET Queensland State Committee; He remains an active member of the ACPET QLD State Committee.
In a new initiative to raise professional standards around the provision of accommodation for international students in Australia, Chris has been instrumental in the design and implementation in 2008 of the Australian Homestay Network - (AHN).

Brendt joined the IES Board on the 9th of April 2002.
Brendt is also a Director of Ashley Munro, with a primary focus to provide entrepreneurs with highly responsive and strategic business solutions; Brendt ensures his knowledge translates in tangible terms to drive real business outcomes.
Brendt's practical, logical and responsive approach, has delivered on his promise to guide entrepreneurial success by influencing business strategies through disciplined and accurate financial insight.
Brendt has a wealth of experience, consulting to a broad variety of enterprises and has become an integrated consulting source, to strengthen the financial control and management of businesses.
Qualifications & Memberships
Sonia Caton has been a member of the IES Board since 13 May 2003. During her time on the board, she also chaired IES' Governance and Complaints committee until October 2011. She brings 22 years experience as a lawyer working in administrative and criminal law and 11 years experience as a decision maker on the Immigration Review Tribunal and the Social Security Appeals Tribunal respectively.
Ms Caton is a past member of the Migration Agents Registration Authority Professional Conduct Committee and was member of the Migration Institute of Australia's Education and Training Reference Committee.
She has contributed to major reform initiatives as the Director of the Refugee and Immigration Legal Service, as Principal Policy Officer with the Qld Dept of the Premier and Cabinet and as a consultant to the Criminal Justice Commission.
Ms Caton continues to lecture in law, undertake case work, sit on the board of the Migration Agents Registration Authority and Chair the Refugee Council of Australia
Peter has been a IES Board member since 09-04-2002. He has held a range of Human Resource roles across a large number of organisations including the University of Queensland, Queensland prison service, BHP/Billiton. With a particular interest in education, Peter was the Chairman of the St Aidan's School Board.
He has also operated his own consulting business for a number of years helping other organisations.
Mr Peter Watson chairs IES' Complaints and Governance Committees.
Michael is a fifth generation member of an old Qld grazing family. His current interests include farming and grazing and the transport industry.
Michael has been a Director of IES since it's foundation in 1998. He also served as IES's Chairman from 2001 to 2004.
As a founding Director, Michael has helped steer the company from humble beginnings to its success today.
Michael was a Councillor in the Beaudesert Shire Council for 18 years and Mayor from 1991 - 1997 and so brings a wealth of knowledge in dealing with all levels of Government.
On the 26th of January 1999 Michael was awarded the medal of the order of Australia for his services to local government and the community.

Gerard brings to the College a wealth of business and education experience. He has been Company Secretary and General Manager at the College since 1999.
Gerard has over 15 years experience in Banking and Finance and 12 years of experience in Managing Education.
He has also taught accountancy, economics, and banking and finance at high school, undergraduate and post graduate levels.
He also serves on the IES' Compliance and Governance Committee and the Audit Committee.
