Academic Convenor

The academic leader of the Program will be Dr Lesa Scholl, Emmanuel College's Dean of Students. Lesa has extensive experience and aptitude in learning and teaching with young people. In addition to her current role at Emmanuel, Dr Scholl lectures in English literature at The University of Queensland. Dr Scholl is a graduate of The University of Queensland with a first class honours degree in English and MPhil also in English. She completed her PhD at Birbeck College, University of London. Lesa has covered all levels in her teaching, from primary through to undergraduate. She was Head of English and Drama at the Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey, UK and a house-parent for both the boys' and girls' boarding houses. Dr Scholl will be supported in this role within the Chrysalis Young Leaders' Program by Dr Jane Thomson, Vice-Principal of Emmanuel College, both under the direction of the Emmanuel College Principal Professor Stewart Gill.
